Shows and Cons

Mission to Zyxx's 'Shows and Cons' is a 12-minute promotional episode featuring the original cast discussing upcoming events fans can attend. The episode centers on three main opportunities: a livestreamed performance of Mission to Zyxx happening Sunday, October 11th at 5 PM ET (accessible globally), ZyxxCon II—a fan-created convention in New York on Saturday, October 10th—and New York Comic Con, also on the 10th. The framing emphasizes accessibility (the livestream can be watched "from anywhere in the galaxy") and community engagement, with an invitation for New York-area listeners to attend the in-person events. The episode also includes a call-to-action for listener support through Maximum Fun membership, which unlocks bonus content. Given the brevity and the show notes' focus on event logistics rather than narrative content, the episode appears to function primarily as an announcement vehicle rather than a traditional story-driven installment.

Verdict: A competent but thin promotional episode that delivers exactly what its title promises but offers minimal narrative or entertainment value for regular listeners seeking story content.

• Delivers on its title 4/5 25%

Title 'Shows and Cons' directly matches the episode's focus on promoting a show (livestream performance) and cons (ZyxxCon II and NYCC)

• Value for time 2/5 25%

12-minute episode dedicated to event announcements could be condensed into a brief segment; padding likely given the straightforward informational content
